Indigenous perspectives on reconciliation

Description

Join Indigenous advisor, facilitator and business owner Jessica Dumas in a workshop designed to bring to life, for all Canadians, the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada’s 2015 Calls to Action.

The 2015 Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action issued a challenge for all Canadians to become aware of Canada's 150-year dysfunctional relationship with Indigenous peoples, and to act. But what does reconciliation look and feel like for diverse groups of Canadians, and how can we all play a role?

Jessica Dumas is Anishinaabe from Keeseekowenin First Nation in Manitoba, Treaty 2 and president of Jessica Dumas Coaching and Training. She is the Chairperson for the Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce. She has served as Chairperson of the Aboriginal Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the City of Winnipeg Mayor’s Indigenous Advisory Circle.

Special guest Dr. Niigaan Sinclair, an award-winning educator and writer, will join the workshop on October 30, 2019.
